Waveshift Surf Co

WaveShift Surf Co. is a contemporary surf and beachwear brand founded in 2015 by a group of lifelong surfers with a deep passion for ocean culture. Born out of a desire to create stylish, functional, and eco-friendly gear, WaveShift quickly gained popularity within the surf community. The brand is dedicated to offering high-performance surf apparel and gear designed to enhance the surfing experience while promoting a sustainable and environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Client Goals

  • Logo

    For WaveShift’s branding, I focused on the waves and ocean aspect, as well as surf culture. With so many initial sketches, I had positive feedback on a variety of designs. Not being a surfer or avid beachgoer myself, I had to step into the role of my target audience— surfers passionate about conversation and having fun in the ocean. When choosing a design, I imaged each variation on apparel, swimwear, and other beach products to inform my decision.

  • Marketing Materials

    With a logo created, the marketing materials came easily. To spice up the letterhead and business card designs, I created and added the brand’s motto, “Ride the Wave”, in a cut-off style to draw the right amount of attention to it. In this phase of design, I went back and forth deciding on a secondary font and using Adobe Fonts resources to get some ideas on what fonts pair well and why.

  • Digital Ads

    For the digital ad campaigns, I focused on ocean conservation and sustainability. Protecting the oceans is one of WaveShift’s core values and with the help of ChatGPT, the “#ShiftTheTide” ad campaign was born. These ads let our customers know that WaveShift contributes to ocean conservation efforts with each of their purchases.
