Commit to Green’s Loshi System Mobile app

Commit to Green (CTG) is a sustainability startup that believes that smart designs, intentional living, and composting resources in the hands of the right people can raise environmental awareness in our communities, reduce landfill waste, and help leave behind a better world.

➷ Freelance UX Design contractor working directly with Commit to Green's founder/CEO and the company's graphic designer to prototype this design in Figma.

The primary challenge addressed by the Loshi System app is the significant amount of food waste generated in the United States, estimated to be between 30-40% of the food supply. This waste contributes to environmental degradation and squanders valuable resources.

Problem

Solution

The Loshi System app offers a user-friendly platform that enables individuals and enterprises to track and manage food waste effectively. By providing tools to monitor waste, the app empowers users to make informed decisions and adopt practices that reduce their environmental footprint.

design process

01. Background Research

I did general research on sustainability and food waste reduction to understand the app's purpose and target audience. This included looking at similar companies and non-profits to identify best practices and potential user expectations.

02. User Persona Development

Based on the research, I created a user persona to represent individuals interested in tracking and reducing their food waste. This persona guided the design decisions throughout the project.

03. User Flow Analysis

User flow diagrams were crafted to map out the app's navigation from both user and enterprise perspectives. This step focused on identifying and addressing any usability issues and missing screens.

04. Wireframing & Prototyping

In Figma, I built wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize the app's layout and functionality. While a lot of the screens had already been designed, I identified missing screens and designed them matching the app's design system and style.
